“Resonance”
”This work is symbolic of synchronised vibrations created nearby to where I live in central Wellington as piling construction is underway causing periods of continuous mini earthquakes. Resonance is a phenomenon in which a vibrating system or external force drives another system to oscillate with greater amplitude at specific frequencies as the vibrations ripple out to me at the end of the street. The use of varied materials in mathematically spaced pencil lines and the lightness of touch whilst applying oil with hints of turpentine, has enabled a subconscious outcome in describing this event”
