Nicola McCafferty
Artist Biography
Based in Wellington, New Zealand.
Inspiration is found in everyday surroundings, the creation of urban structures surrounding my home in the central city or from personal photos captured whilst travelling around the country. These ideas are then transformed into abstract compositions or landscapes often emphasising light and moody scenes. Experimentation in the use of materials becomes part of a meditative process revealing itself along the way with forms of erasure and overlay repeated multiple times to define the outcome.
